the Living Artist Gallery

The art, illustration and design of G. L. Handon

What is? Who is?

Once upon a time, the Living Artist Gallery was a retail art space for emerging, under represented and or controversial artists. We were located in the city of Bellevue, WA. It was a great time for all, but times change. Bellevue became too cost prohibitive for the group so we each ventured our own way. the Living Artist Gallery is now the personal Website of G. L. Handon; that's me - the sole survivor and founder.

Here you will find samples of some of my paintings, graphics, illustrations and other artistic creations. Hopefully you'll find something of interest to you within my growing portfolio.

Personal statement regarding my painting:

Although I hate labels, I guess I can be considered a conceptual, minimalist painter. I truly believe the old adage, "less is more". My emphasis is the abstract of human existence and condition - using recognizable shapes and figures to represent abstract thought. Color is used to set mood and emotion. Hands are usually a fixture in my pieces. I feel they often speak louder than words.
